This was a very interesting exercise. The idea is to remove the scarecrow for the first image and place it on the foreground of the second before blurring the background to create a sense of perspective. The Magic wand tool was used to select the sky in the first image with the Anti-alias and Contiguous selections on. Any of the sky that wasn't selected the Select > Similar command selected. Using Select > Inverse the Scarecrow could then be moved into Fig.2 with the edges being cleaned up using the Inner Glow tool. Finally to create the burred background on the Fig.2 layer a lens bur was applied. These were good techniques to learn asa they will allow me to more easily put to images together while keeping the perspective.
